One sunny afternoon, Ratri sat on the porch with her cousin Tari. They are the same age. Tari came from Jakarta. She just finished a school project — working at a café to raise money for charity. “It was tiring,” she said, “but also magical.”

Ratri listened. The fan turned slowly. A dog barked far away. In that moment, something quiet happened — not loud, not dramatic, but deep. Like a small light turning on inside.

Tari smiled. “I want to do it again next year.” Ratri said, “Aku bangga padamu.”
