Cerita Tari
Tari sat beside Ratri under the mango tree. The wind blew softly. “I want to tell you about my friend from Bandung,” she said. “She studied at Unpad. Her brother was my senior.”
Her friend had a busy life. She had class only three days a week — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. The other days — Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday — she worked at a café. She took on a part-time job to earn money. At first, Ratri thought, Wah, pasti kuliahnya terganggu.
But Tari smiled. “No. She did very well.” In fact, she graduated with flying colors. “She was even on the honor roll every semester.” Ratri was shocked. “Bagaimana caranya?”
Tari explained, “She learned to manage her time well. Every morning, she made a plan. She knew when to study, when to work, and when to rest.”
“She could keep up with both school and work. She didn’t fall behind in her lessons.” She said working at the café helped her stay focused. “The job taught her to be on time and responsible.”
When exams came, she would ask for time off. “I need to study,” she told her boss. And they always said yes. But if a friend couldn’t work, she would step in and help. “Aku mau ganti jadwal,” she’d say.
“She learned to be flexible,” Tari said. “She didn’t give up easily. She knew how to deal with challenges.”
Ratri listened. The birds chirped. The tea got cold. She thought, Kerja dan kuliah bisa berjalan bareng?
Tari nodded. “Yes. She said the job made her stronger. She didn’t lose track of her goals. She stayed on the right path.”
“She even helped others get through tough times,” Tari added. “She was kind, calm, and always ready to work.”
Ratri smiled. “Aku takjub.” She decided: “Nanti, aku akan cerita ke Ayah.”
